Leonardo Exhibition is mostly about sculptures that did not happen and anatomical drawings, most wonderful drawings but wish some others, maybe from his later drawings, were there too! Have to go off to Sheffield and Manchester to get more variety of his amazing skills and artestry. But it is a must see. Amazing!
I used to spend a lot of time there as child. It was down the road from my school. As I studied art o and A levels I did a lot of research and other homework, coursework there. So on the way to a school reunion I popped in and had a good time. I hope to exhibit there one of these days.
Easy to find central location and plenty of seats so a good place to meet people who don't know the centre of Leeds well. Drinks and scones are quite pricey but you do get the chance to look at some great art for free and those Burmantoft tiles are magnificent.
Turned up early on a Saturday the other week to make sure I got all the good art before anyone else got there. Wasn't disappointed. It had lots of art and it was all really arty. I looked at it and walked round it before virtually anyone else got in there, so that made me the winner. Would recommend.
The old building the art gallery is housed in is beautiful. The art inside even more so... Cafe in there is very good, I can recommend the prawn salad, g.f cakes and the cappuccinos! Well worth a visit and it's also free to look around as well...
