Recently went for surgery to spires the care from everyone was unbelievable. From nursing staff to housekeeping staff was fantastic .special thanks to anithertists who put me at ease all the way through my surgery
Although I do not rate the hospitals' administration particularly highly, given some of the rather bureaucratic processes, most of the clinical and nursing staff were fantastic during day case surgery. Only an Anaesthetist managed to disappoint me by banging on about the fact he had to give the standard spiel to all patients and clearly was fed up with it (why the heck was he doing that job then?!)! I still can't believe that this hospital does not have Patient Information Leaflets for common procedures (pretty inexcusable) but my experience on the day put my mind at ease fairly early on once I'd met the ward staff. Apart from the nursing staff and surgeon, the most important benefit I felt going to Spire was that there was no rush to get me out of the hospital once the procedure was done. They genuinely wanted me to be content to leave first - made a huge difference to me.Whilst wound management was regular, it did take 4 weeks for them to identify a surgical infection; they only swabbed at MY request too. Not overly impressed .
If I could give the hospital zero stars as an option I would. Avoid this place, my mum was left in severe pain (due to anaesthetist mainly), the level of care from the nurses was extremely poor. I realise now how bad spire Leeds is as my mum has recently had surgery in another private hospital and it was worlds apart from the nightmare we experienced at spire Leeds.
I recently had an operation at Spire, and it was a very pleasant experience given the circumstance. All of the nurses and doctors were very helpful and happy. The hospital was extremely clean and the room very comfortable! Before the operation it was explained to me what would happen though out the day, given every opportunity to ask any questions I may have, I didn't have any as I wasn't sure what to expect but everything was explained fully. There was wifi in the rooms so we watched a movie whilst waiting. After my op I was brought the sandwich I had picked earlier, it was tasty! And the coffee was just what I needed! I'm glad I got to go to spire for my first (hopefully last) surgery :)
Had reason to visit here last year with my sister. Found the Hospital to be very good. Well laid out. Very clean and tidy. Good signage. But most of all very helpful staff. My sister has visited numerous times and she has never had a bad word to say about the place. Another plus as a visitor was the availability of tea and coffee. As with all hospitals you can be waiting a while.
