it's fascinating the unpaid man power that goes into keeping a steam railway up and running. There is a small cafe to get a drink, shop too. The museum is amazing so many exhibits and the volunteers are helpful and friendly
Inside museum. Parking toilets disabled access. Ramp to train so we can ride too. Cafe. Children partys held. Train to Middleton park walk. Kids loved it
A really nice way to spend an afternoon with the kids, very engaging staff and fantastic value for money,, even the shop wasn't a rip off
Been today and we all loved it especially my 2 year old girl who has become obsessed with trains recently and this was perfect for her. She even got to sit in the drivers seat while they changed the engine from one end to the other. The staff were very helpful and polite and all at such a low price no doubt we will be visiting again and again and again. Thank you for a lovely time.
Visited some years ago but remember well a gentleman well uniformed and seriously checking our tickets to do the 50 yards steam journey! Fascinating very early railway to transport coal - mines dotted around the hill. Looking forward to another visit there next week.
