Nice little cafe. Small play area for tots. Reasonably priced snacks and meals. Museum is free, but haven't visited that.

This cool little free museum was definitely worth popping into. There was a pretty interesting exhibit on the history of the area, which traced from the geology to the pre-Roman inhabitants to the Romans to the middle ages, then the industrial revolution (lots of cholera and living in close quarters) to the modern day. The third floor also had an interesting exhibit on Egyptian, Greek, and Roman history that included a very interesting and well displayed MUMMY! I was not expecting that, but it was fascinating to look at the ancient priest and how he was preserved, and then look into the artist's reconstruction of his face, and ponder the great many mysteries about what separates us and what is common, among humans thousands of miles and thousands of years apart.

Not usually someone who visits museums, but took my 16 month old grandson here and he had the time of his life in the soft play area, and was gobsmacked by the natural world displays and amazed at being allowed to interact. Nice cafe as well. Will visit more regularly.

Beautiful food and huge list of gluten free food and cake, great staff and lovely building. Were regulars and always come here to have a nice cuppa and cake! If you've never been then try the place. It's so lovely

Amazing place to spend the day with the kids, especially if they're interested in wildlife and natural history. There's also free activities on offer from time to time, such as the soft play and craft centre we went to over Halloween. There's also a really nice cafe. If you need something cheap to do on a rainy day, this is great. Some of the decor is starting to look a little tired though, so could do with a bit of a refresh in the near future.
