So much to see that I was glad one of the galleries was out of action! We were given complementary tickets to return when it is back in operation. The staff were kind, helpful and knowledgeable. A great day out for older children and adults. There were lots of steps and uneven ground but we managed nicely with the aid of a stick.
Beautiful building with an interesting history. Great views to go with it. Would definitely recommend.
Very good museum that gave an excellent insight into working conditions in the 19th century. The treatment of the workers was appalling. Very interesting exhibits that gave a behind the scenes look at the former woollen industry of the area.
Great piece of history and a beautiful location. The staff here are super friendly and very knowledgeable. You can see a Georgian era steam engine, and many pieces of wool and cotton manufacture. Also a queens of industry exhibit and historic film making equipment.
Fantastic collection of industrial machines. Only reason I didn't give it five stars was because the person who demonstrates the machines working was on holiday. If you want to see the machines working and have someone explain how they work ring ahead. Large outside area with picnic benches good for a picnic on a nice day and there is an indoor eating area too. No caf.
