Needed a last minute hire due to persistent breakdowns my dealership have been unable to diagnose, and making a long journey I needed a reliable car. Ordered at midnight for collection 12pm that day. Was called at 7.45am and woken up, to be told the address I had given didnt come up as being linked to me, how long had I been there? First of all, Im not sure why it wouldnt be linked to me as Im on the voters roll there. Having literally just been woken up I said something like about 12 months To be told as youve been there for a year and we cant see any link to that address we can only take your deposit payment on a credit card. I advised I dont have one, and that in fact Id been at the new place 11 months, giving the specific date I actually moved in. He said: Im afraid I can only take your first answer. What is it, a game show? Id been woken up first thing and said in a half asleep state about a year, so now I was giving him the specific date, which was less than 12 months, a bit more awake and he wouldnt accept it, as it wasnt my first answer and therefore refused to hire the car to me. Ridiculous. Ive given 2 stars rather than one as the young gent was very polite, despite being the worst game show host in history.
